I grew up in an aviation family- my father, Fred Ludtke, campaigned two different Monocoupes, a 90AW, and a 110 Special on the airshow circuit for thirty years, flying his airshow aerobatic routine “4 1/2 Gs in 4 1/2 Minutes”. Growing up, I helped restore, maintain, and eventually fly these historic airplanes.
I hold FAA Commercial Pilot and Airframe & Powerplant Certifications. I have thirty years of professional experience in aviation and aerospace design, maintenance, fabrication, and restoration. My aviation career spans line-maintenance of flight school aircraft, to the restoration of antique airplanes, to writing flight manual and maintenance manual procedures, to the design of flight deck human/system interfaces for a major commercial aircraft manufacturer.
Currently I am the Marketing Product Analyst for Dynon Avionics. I am responsible for applying my aviation expertise to influence the company's new product introduction strategies. My previous roles with Dynon include Certification Engineer, and Technical Support Specialist.
My hobbies include keeping my wife happy, raising four children (now all attending or have graduated college), and recently, building my next airplane- a Vans RV-6. My previous airplane was a Pitts Special S-1E, which I used for regional aerobatic competition... 20 years ago. I am looking forward to flying again!
