Tony,
I have a Commander 112, S/N 23. I am looking at installing CIE's digital fuel sending units. I can not figure out how to get in the vicinity of the tank sending units on the exterior of the rear of the tank. The maintenance manual says you can reach it from the inspection panel just inboard of the fuel tank, which may be true for later S/N's but not for my bird. Have ever attempted to get into the exterior fuel tank sending unit area and if so how was it accomplished. I am reaching out to you because our planes are only 4 serial numbers apart.

Our prior senders had been sealed in place from the inside using PRC and when we installed the CIES, we only used the supplied gaskets and it has been totally dry. When you plug the CIES connector into the connector you fished, you push it back through the hole into the dry area so there is a little loop there.
We have been super happy with the CIES and a number of other owners have installed since we did. They are bang on accurate.
Cheers, Tony
