Retired Naval Aviator I flew A7E's & A's light attack jets with attack squadron VA 94 aboard USS Coral Sea during deployments1973 & 74/75 in Gulf of Tonkin and South China Sea. I entered officer candidate school in August 12, 69 at Serman Field, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, In Primary aviation flew Beech T34B Mentors. In basic Jets I flew North American T-2 A,B&C Buckeyes In Advanced Jet training we moved to Beeville, Texas were I flew the Grumman TF-9J, Cougar, the Lead Slead or Ensign eater it had J48-p series engine, with a heavy & huge compressor section long spool-up times killed a lot of student aviators in the landing pattern getting on the back side of the power curve.
