  • David,

I loved your solution for repairing the flap position sensor in your plane and have the parts on order to do the same for my 112TCA.

I was hoping you could send me the logbook entry wording you and your A&P finally used to document the repair. The draft you had at the top of your post had me a bit confused. I couldn't tell if this was an "Owner Produced Part" via CFR 21.303(b)(2), or a "Standard Part" replacement / repair via CFR 21.303(b)(4). The pot should qualify as a standard part, the new bent arm and drilled Ruland double wide shaft collar could be owner produced? So then it is both?

    Thanks,

Craig Cantrell suggested I contact you about an experience you had with Teflon / SS hose assemblies?
Would you care to share your experience?
    Thanks, Bill

Sorry to just now see this... I'm not on the forum much!

The net of the story is really about regular brake hoses, Parker Stratoflex to be exact. I had them installed a couple of years ago, and the brakes had been mushy ever since. My old mechanic couldn't ever fix it right, so I got my new mechanic digging into it. Turns out, the lines are defective and stretch under pressure. The mechanic has a video of that happening... After a bunch of back and forth, Parker sent me new hoses, but in the meantime I'd had it with them and installed Teflon hoses, problem gone.

So I have a set of brand new (hopefully non-defective!) Parker Stratoflex if you/anyone needs them.

You can more easily reach me through email, davloose@gmail.com, or by phone, 512-799-7548.,
