We are at Saint Petersburg Clearwater INT (KPIE) for the next couple days. Any owners down in this area? Haven't been online much, we have been flying a bunch putting 60+ hours on the meter the last few weeks. Man this commander is AWESOME!

Better to be flying than sitting in front of a computer Ryan!

That is true! We have enjoyed so many adventures so far. Will be enjoying the fly in to this year!

Go to Clearwater Beach and have a drink during sunset...

Ryan,

When are you heading back? There is an excellent steak house North of Atlanta (Elevation Chop) that (wx permitting) a couple of us could hookup.

Todd and Maggie Hardin and I met up at the Atlanta A/Spruce fly-in Sat. Atlanta dep asked, 'Hey are there two of you'? They were very accommodating. (pix)

Thought about heading down to see Ken Andrews but didn't have his contact info . . .

Have fun and many safe flights . . .
John

Ryan the Elevation Chop House that John is talking about is on the field at McCollum/Cobb County ( KRYY ).....you basically taxi your airplane right up to the door of the Restaurant and they are famous for their steaks etc, awesome food at a very reasonable price for what you get and the quality (two can eat very well for about $60.00 or less). Let John and I know what day you'll be going back to Virginia and we'll meet up with you guys for a dinner at KRYY....that'd be cool.
Let us know your plans,

I lived in Cobb County in the 1980's and that airport was a newly paved strip with lot's of red dirt around and maybe a couple of buildings... Guess I should stop by more often!

Alan if you've not been back since the 80's then yes you need to drop in there one day, you will definitely not recognize it at all.......in fact it has drastically changed a lot just in the past 15 years let along 30-35 years.
It is now a controlled tower field and of course under the Bravo of Hot-lanta.
Very Very nice airport, Hawthrone Aviation is the FBO and it's top-notch, the landing fee is only $5.00 and if you take on "ANY" fuel at all they waive the landing fee, I was shocked to say the least when I found out landing fee was only $5.00, especially since it is so close to Hot-lanta, a lot of the corporate business companies with jets etc from the Atlanta area are now based there.

It'd be cool for all the Commander guys heading back North & Northwest to plan a stop in there before or after the Annual fly-in in September.

Re: Hello Florida from 4615W!

Wish we could do dinner with y'all but the short trip ended this morning. My brother and dad are back enroute this morning to VA and I will fly a commercial line home at the end of the week. Rain check for the fly in?
