Cookout Southern Middle TN. M29 or KSNH end of March

I am new to the forum, but my wife (Twila) and I have put on a cookout for the last 3 years at KSNH Savannah Harden County Airport. It has steadily grown from about 10 the first year to about 40 last year and would like to see more people. We may move it to M29 Clifton Airport as that is where I will be based in the future and I will have access to the entire place. We supply everything, but if you want to bring something to share, your more then welcome to.

It will be at the end of March to celebrate warmer and better flying weather. Clean your planes and show them off.

I am trying this year to have some fly-by's by a formation flying team of Yaks and one of three built Lionheart kit staggering bi planes. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8uhd5c4diyI

The exact date will be set as we get closer.

All I ask is to let me know if you are showing so I can get enough food.

Thanks,
Mike

I would love to come. I took a 3-day acro course there last year with Catherine Cavagnaro. I presume you know her? Great pilot, teacher and person.

Mike,

For us "Less than wealthy" 112 owners, would they allow us to sleep in the Commander?

N1182J is set up for camping in the back. Or even a tent under the wing.

Life is a barrel of fun

We have been through Albany a few times going to Orlando area to see kids. You are more then welcome to camp there. I would love to see how you have your plane set up for camping. we could put you in the center hanger ( doors were removed ) and I believe they still have a courtesy car.

An update on the cookout. It looks like it will be at KSNH Savannah Harden County Airport again. Either March 14th or March 21st. They are very good people there and I have an indoor area if it gets to cold. We usually have air Evac and hospital guys come buy also. They let the kids go through their helo's. They will allow camping if you want and do have a crew car. Trying to get a fuel discount for anyone that flys in. Will see.

Go for the 21st!. I have to be in Nashville all day Wednesday the 18th and have other stops I can make in that neck of the woods. Would love to come. Maybe Catherine and I can pop 21 spins again above the airport in the Aerobat!

Re: Cookout Southern Middle TN. M29 or KSNH end of March

21st is the date we are shooting for. Did try for the 28th, but there is a big air show that weekend in Tuscalusca, Al. That many people want to go to. I flew down for that. Taxied right in front of the Blue Angels center stage. The FBO had free food and drinks for anyone that flew in.

Anyway, trying to convince the Savannah FBO to give discount fuel for all that show up for the cookout. Will see.

If I remember, your FBO is one of the lowest price fuel stops in that region. I've stopped there twice just for fuel. Guy who runs the place loves to talk Commanders..... k

Yep, they are cheap, but doesn't stop me from asking for cheaper.:) They are all nice there. You must of met Paul. He actually works for a lady called Montel. Very nice and she runs the FBO. She is in her 60's now and she will be out there pulling refueling hoses around for Jets to Cubs, then go out on the tractor and start cutting grass or tow a plane.

I would love to come! Im in the Memphis area based at KFYE. Do you have any dates yet?

Re: Cookout Southern Middle TN. M29 or KSNH end of March

Michael I go there a lot since I do a lot of work at the PCA Counce Paper mill. Know both of them very well and they are the best. I am actually planning on being at the mill that weekend and following week for a shut down but will try to make it over. Look forward to this.

Re: Cookout Southern Middle TN. M29 or KSNH end of March

Michael-
Are you still planning lunch on Saturday at KSNH?

Yes indeed. We plan on getting there about 10:30. We plan on having it at the mechanics hanger behind the GA hangers. Just taxi behind them and get a hamburger, hotdog, chips, beans, salads, deserts, drinks, etc. then you guys can tell me all the secrets of my newly acquired Commander 112.

Let me know if your comming. Michaelmcgrath@tds.net
Hope to see you guys there.......
