 Robin Miley, N1390J

"Many of you wonder how I ever found Big Piney, WY (known to insiders as “Big Nowhere”). Being born here helps. I was raised in a family of pilots with my Dad being both an airline and charter pilot. With the passing of my mother this past year, only my brother Roman (Rocky) and I amongst the living. Which brings me to a brief rant …a pastime in which I am known to indulge upon light provocation."

"I lost three brothers and my father over an 11 month period. All my family members, save two, perished in aviation accidents and none where they were to blame. Given the several Commander accidents we’ve all noted over the past couple of years, we need to engage in considerably more defensive aviating. Let’s be extra careful out there.

My father started Big Piney Aviation in 1950 (KBPI). It’s a business I continue to run today. As a full service FBO, we stock parts for various aircraft but my specialty is Commander. If you, or your A&P, are in need of parts, give me a call. I may have what you need sitting on the shelf. …or in the shed out back. …or in the garage at home. …or somewhere around here???

I also am the proud founder and proprietor of RCM Normalizing which, over the years, has developed and received FAA approval for several STC’s for Commander aircraft. They include the 112 Hotshot turbo-normalized/intercooler conversion, use of the 3-blade Top Prop propeller with the Hot Shot conversion, Flap Gap Seals, and the wing mounted retractable landing lights. I’ve owned N1390J since 1985 and, in my 4600 hours of flight time, have driven many aircraft; but the Commander is the best built of all.

I love a beautiful woman, sexy airplanes, and fast cars. Been married to Ola for 24 years and fall within that lucky group of guys that found their soul mate on the first try. Sexy airplanes? Well, the Commander pretty much makes that statement doesn’t it? Also had a thing for Jaguars for a long time. Even run some highly technical experiments to see which I can make go faster… the Jag or the Commander? Jury’s still out on that one.

Come on out to Wyoming and set for a spell. We can chew the fat about harmless stuff like politics. Big Piney Aviation has a fine courtesy car to let you explore all the culture and night life of Big Piney. … and, no, it isn’t one of the Jags."
